FLOOD AGAIN HITS BALEENDAH IN W JAVA
Bandung, West Java, March 13 (ANTARA) - A flood again hit the Baleendah area, Bandung District, West Java Province, here on Friday.
Baleendah had been flooded seven times since the start of the rainy season, Sofyan, a resident of Cieunteung, Baleendah, said on Friday.
Cieunteung was flooded twice in the past. One flood last a week with the flood waters reaching a height of 50 cm to one meter.
Meanwhile, the Citarum river had been overflowing since Thursday evening following incessant heavy rains in the Kertasari, Pacet and Majalaya areas.
Last November 2008, hundreds of houses in the Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot areas, Bandung District, were inundated as the Citarum river had overflowed.
