Vivek Kundra on leave from White House
Washington, Mar 13 (PTI) Indian-American Vivek Kundra,
who last week was appointed Federal Chief Technology Officer
by President Barack Obama, is on leave from his White House
job after the FBI raided his old district of Columbia
government office.
Media reports said quoting White House officials that
Kundra took this decision to go on leave after the Federal
Bureau of Investigation raided the premises of his former
Office of the Chief Technology Officer in the Government of
Washington DC on a corruption related case.
Kundra, 34, was the Chief Technology Officer of
Washington DC till last week, when Obama picked him as his
infotech czar. The Washington Post, which first reported about
the FBI raid, said Kundra was not suspected of any wrong
doing.
Two individuals, including an Indian-American Sushil
Bansal, have been arrested by the FBI in connection of the
corruption charges, The Post said.
Yusuf Acar, an information security officer was the
other person arrested.
Bansal is president and CEO of the Advances Integrated
Technologies Corp and a contractor of the technology office.
