OBAMA CALLS YUDHOYONO AND DISCUSSES RI-US COOPERATION

Jakarta, March 13 (ANTARA) - US President Barack Obama called President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at his residence Friday evening and discussed some issues including Indonesia and US partnership and the G-20 summit.
"President Barack Obama at 7.45 pm called President Yudhoyono and discussed among others the comprehensive partnership between the US and Indonesia and preparations for the G-20 summit in London early next month," presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said.
He said on the occasion President Obama also expressed his wish to cooperate with Indonesia in global issues such as climate change.
At the start of the phone conversation, Dino said, President Yudhoyono greeted President Obama in the Indonesian language "apa kabar" (how are you) which President Obama replied also in Indonesian "baik-baik" (fine).
President Yudhoyono contacted President Obama early in November 2008 when Obama had just won the US presidential election. At that time Yudhoyono asked Obama to visit Indonesia on the sidelines of the APEC meeting in Singapore in October this year.
