YUDHOYONO TO CAMPAIGN IN 12 PROVINCES, KALLA IN 16 PROVINCES


Jakarta, March 13 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla were set to participate in outdoor campaigning for the legislative election on April 9.
Member of the National Elections Commission (KPU) Sri Nuryanti said here on Friday that their schedule of campaigning had already been made known to KPU through a letter sent by the minister/state secretary on March 7.
The letter said President Yudhoyono who is also the chairman of the advisory board of the Democrat Party would take an absence of leave every Friday as of March 20 to April 3. He would use nine days of the campaign period for campaigning for his party in 12 provinces in the country.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla who is also the general chairman of Golkar Party meanwhile would take an absence of leave for three days namely on March 17, March 25 and April 2. He would use 10 days of the campaign period for campaigning in 16 provinces.
President Yudhoyono would start campaigning on March 20 in Jakarta and on March 21 in Bali and on March 22 in Makassar and Palembang.
In the second week of the campaign period he would come to Banten on March 27, Medan on March 28 and Banda Aceh and Padang on March 29.
In the third week he would be in Bangkalan, Surabaya (East Java)and Yogyakarta on April 4 and Semarang, Central Java, on April 5.
Jusuf Kalla meanwhile would start his campaign on March 17 in North Sumatra and Central Kalimantan and would be followed later on March 21 in South Sumatra and South Sulawesi, and on March 22 in Banten and Jambi and on March 25 in Central Java and South Kalimantan.
On March 26 he would be in West Java and on March 28 in Jakarta and March 29 in Bengkulu and East Nusa Tenggara. On April 2 he would be in East Java and Central Sulawesi and on April 4 in Central Java and East Kalimantan and April 5 in West Java and West Sumatra.
According to reports, Yudhoyono would hire public relations company Bravo Media Center to arrange his campaign activities including media coverage.
