PTT, PTTEP uphold membership of DJSI

BANGKOK, September 13 (TNA) - PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand's largest petroleum firm, and its subsidiary, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), have both, again, maintained their membership of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), in which the world's some 2,500 leading businesses are members. New PTT President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chansin Treenuchagron told journalists on September 13 that PTT has sustained its membership in the DJSI for the 7th consecutive year in 2018 and has gained the highest score for the 2nd consecutive year as the "Industry Leader" in the oil & gas upstream & integrated busness sector. The new PTT president and CEO acknowledged that his company's success has come from its balanced "3Ps" policy on taking care of people and their environment and natural resources in parallel with running its businesses, becoming a firm and sustainable planet for the national socio-economy and bringing prosperity and happiness to the nation and people in the long run. "PTT will continue to become a key mechanism to drive ahead the national development and growth and to sustain its pride as a company that emphasizes on transparency towards its sustainability in all areas, which also brings about happiness to all. Besides, PTT will keep on supporting the value-added creation for local communities", vowed the new PTT president and CEO. Meanwhile, PTTEP CEO Somporn Vongvuthipornchai told reporters that his company has also been selected to be a member of the DJSI for the world's oil and gas upstream & integrated industry for the 5th consecutive year in 2018, showing his company's determination to run its business in parallel with paying attention to the dimensions of national socio-economic development and environmental protection. "The success also shows that all PTTEP staff members have shared and upheld the company's core value on developing and moving together towards the corporate sustainability based on its anti-corruption stance to help create the national energy security", said the PTTEP CEO. The DJSI are among the world's most recognized indices on efficient and sustainable businesses, with outstanding operational performance firms in the business, social and environmental dimensions to be selected as the members.
