VP OFFICIATES HOUSING BLOCK CONSTRUCTION IN BATAM
Batam, Indonesia, March 14 (ANTARA) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla here on Saturday officiated the construction of high-rise housing bloc, funded by PT Jamsostek for the local workers.
The construction of the housing block, located in Kabil, Batam, was officiated by the vice president before Riau Islands Governor Ismet Abdullah, State Minister for Public Housing Yusuf Ashari, Industry Minister Fahmi Idris, PT Jamsostek President Director Hotbonar Sinaga, Labour Union organizers, Indonesian Businessmen Association chairman Sofyan Wanandi, and a number of invitees.
The housing block in Kabil is the second to be built by PT Jamsostek after the first one in Muka Kuning, Batam.
On a 100,000 square-meter plot of land, the 21,600 square-meter apartment block with 770 rooms will be built at the investment cost of Rp11,658 billion to accommodate as many as 3,080 workers.
Equipped with clinics, drug store, salon, cyber cafe, telecommunication kiosk, mini market, canteen, and sport facility, the housing block is expected to be completed in November this year.
Meanwhile, Governor Ismet Abdullah said that to reduce transportation fare, Riau Islands provincial administration would provide the workers, who would state at the housing block, with seven commuter buses.***
