Temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius on top of Doi Inthanon mountain

CHIANG MAI, Sept 21 (TNA) – The temperature on the top of Doi Inthanon mountain was at 6 degrees Celsius this morning as rain declines. Visitors on the Kiew Mae Pan trail saw mist blanketing the mountain as well as red maple leaves which are the sign of the approaching winter. The peak of Doi Inthanon is a popular destination of chill-loving tourists as it welcomes almost 800,000 visitors yearly. Nearly 200,000 tourists visit Doi Inthanon monthly in December and January. The northern office of the Meteorological Department reported that rain was declining due to the weaker monsoon which stretches above the lower Central Plains, the upper South and the East. Meanwhile, a high pressure area from China is arriving in the country. Weathermen expect the winter to begin in the second half of October as usual. (TNA)
