S. Korea to open biz support centers in New Delhi, Phnom Penh

SEOUL, March 15 (Yonhap) -- South Korea said Sunday it will open two new overseas corporate support centers, in New Delhi and Phnom Penh, to help Korean firms adapt to local business environments.

The centers are part of an ongoing effort to help local companies expand into
developing markets that can help boost Korea's export-driven economy, according
to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
They are designed mainly to assist small- and medium-sized enterprises cope with
administrative, legal and tax-related issues. Smaller firms generally do not have
the manpower or knowhow to deal effectively which such logistical issues.
The two centers will be operated by the state-run Korea Trade-Investment
Promotion Agency. The first such facility was opened in September 2004 in
Beijing. The agency now runs a total of 10 offices located in five countries.
The New Delhi office will be opened Monday, while the center in the Cambodian
capital is to start work on Wednesday.
