Northeastern farmers warned of heavy rain

BANGKOK, Sept 29 (TNA) - The Meteorological Department’s upper northeastern office has warned local farmers to brace for heavy rain from Sept 29 to Oct 1. Chalalai Jaempol, director of the regional weather office, said heavy rain and storms were likely during the period in Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Bung Kan, Nong Khai, Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Maha Sarakham, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom provinces. Local people were advised to stay away from open fields, big trees and insecure buildings and to take precautions on possible lightning. Miss Chalalai said local farmers should protect their produce as much as they could. (TNA)
