Transportation Minister visits Hala Bahrain’s main lounge at Bahrain International Airport

Manama, Oct. 13 (BNA): Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of Gulf Air Holding Group, Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed visited Hala Bahrain’s Main Lounge at Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) Departure Area to inspect its facilities and hospitality services for arriving, departing, and transit passengers. He was accompanied by Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer,Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah and several other BAC officials. During the visit, the minister met with Hala Bahrain’s management and hospitality teams and was briefed on the company’s services, which aim to ensure and a welcoming, stress-free, and convenient airport experience. Hala Bahrain, a subsidiary of BAC, operates four lounges in BIA’s Arrivals and Departures Areas, which offer a number of exclusive services and amenities.Since the beginning of the year, 60,000 passengers have used the lounges and this figure is expected to grow rapidly. The minister said: “Hala Bahrain is a main pillar of the Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP). Its premium hospitality and support services reflect the Kingdom’s trademark culture of generosity, making travelling through BIA a smooth and enjoyablejourney. The company will also play a key role in enhancing the overall airport experience at the new Passenger Terminal Building. US-based Champollion has finalised the designs for Hala Bahrain’s upcoming 300 sqm Arrivals and 2,700 sqm Departures lounges. We are in the process of offering a tender to build those lounges, providing all construction is finished before the new terminal’s launch in Q3 2019.” Launched in 2017, Hala Bahrain offers a range of shuttle and meet and greet services to make travel easier for passengers. Its launch is in line with the objectives of the USD 1.1 billion AMP and is part of BAC’s strategy to diversify revenue streams and achieve sustainable profitability.
