Yemen links bombing against S. Koreans to terrorism

SEOUL, March 17 (Yonhap) -- A recent bombing in Yemen that killed four South
Korean tourists was a premeditated attack by a terrorist group, a South Korean
official said Tuesday, citing the results of a preliminary investigation by
Yemeni authorities.
But the official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters the South
Korean government has not yet officially received the full outcome of the probe.
"The preliminary investigation by the Yemeni Interior Ministry found that it was
a deliberate terrorist attack," the official said.
South Korea's ambassador to Yemen is meeting with the country's vice foreign
minister to get detailed information, he added.
Sunday's bombing in the historic city of Shibam killed four South Koreans and
wounded three others during a group tour organized by a Seoul-based travel
agency.
