Iran fruit exports up 17 percent in six months

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – Iran's fruit export witnessed 17 percent growth in the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 20). A total of 1.13 million tons of various types of fruits worth $741 million were exported from Iran in the first half of the Iranian year registering a 17% increase compared to last year's corresponding period, Customs of Islamic Republic of Iran reported. Iran exported 974,000 tons of fruits worth 633 million dollars in the first six months of last year. Iran also exported 1.11 million tons of vegetables worth of 438 million dollars in the first half of this Iranian year. Iran had exported 732,000 tons of vegetables worth of 221 million dollars in the first six months of the previous Iranian year.
