LG Group opens its biggest research lab in Seoul
SEOUL, March 18 (Yonhap) -- LG Group, South Korea's third-largest business conglomerate by assets, opened Wednesday south of Seoul its largest research and development center as it strives to develop core technologies in mobile phones, digital televisions and optical storage products.
LG spent 260 billion won (US$182.7 million) over the past three years to build
the research center, which will house 3,000 staff members, the group said in a
statement.
LG, which has LG Electronics Inc. under its wing, has said it plans to invest 3.5
trillion won this year in research and development.
