ACEH SHORES UP COORDINATION TO SUPPORT ELECTION
Banda Aceh, Indonesia, March 18 (ANTARA) - The Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) provincial administration continues to shore up coordination and build synergy to ensure the smoothness of the legislative election on April 9.
"We continue to shore up our coordination and synergy to ensure the smoothness of democratic festivity this year," Governor Irwandi Yusuf said here on Wednesday.
The governor said the provincial administration had held a regional leadership coordination meeting which was attended by all district heads and mayors across the province to make the upcoming legislative election a success.
He expressed hope that besides the smooth and peaceful legislative election, all parties in Aceh would support the peace process in the province.
In relation with the upcoming legislative election, Irwandi Yusuf also mentioned the participation of six local parties in addition to 38 other national political parties.
"We would like to call on all people who have been registered in the Permanent Voters List (DPT) to use their right to vote in accordance with their conscience without pressure from any party," the governor said.
To support the smoothness of the democratic festivity, the governor expressed hope that all district and municipalities in the province would help facilitate the familiarization, transportation, election logistic shipment, and the monitoring in accordance with Presidential Decree No 4/2009.***
