Meeting of CIS CCBT to be held today in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov. 14, 2018. /Kabar/. A regular meeting of the CIS Council of Commanders of the Border Troops (CCBT) will be held in Bishkek Today. The meeting will be attended by delegations of nine border institutions - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The meeting will also be attended by the heads of a number of interacting bodies of the CIS and the working structures of international organizations (the Executive Committee of the Anti-Terrorist Center, the Bureau for the Coordination of Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes, the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization). Members of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops will focus on issues related to assessing and analyzing the situation at the external borders of the CIS countries of the Central Asian region, summarizing the activities of the CCBT in 2018 and identifying priorities for 2019, discussing the results of special border operations and their organization for the next period. At the same time, within the framework of the practical implementation of the Decision of the CIS Heads of State Council on the adaptation of the Commonwealth to modern realities of September 16, 2016, the Council of Commanders plans to decide on the transformation of one of the temporary working bodies - the Coordinating Scientific Council into the Coordination Council on Science and Education, which will allow to bring its work to a new level. Considering that the agenda of the upcoming meeting contains a set of items related to training and further development of veteran border movement in the Commonwealth space, representatives of the basic organization of the CIS member states in the field of training, professional retraining and advanced training of personnel in the border area - the Border Academy of the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Coordination Council of the International Union of Public Associations of Veterans (retirees) of Border Service are invited to attend. In addition, issues related to rule-making and research activities will be considered, as well as a number of organizational and personnel decisions will be made.
