TWO JAPANESE FIRMS READY TO INVEST IN PURBALINGGA

Purbalingga, C Java, March 19 (ANTARA)- Two Japanese businessmen have expressed their readiness to invest in animal feed and food production in Purbalingga district, Central Java, a local official said.

"The two Japanese investors are Pooki Teading Co dealing with animal feed, and Asako Yushi Koogyo Co dealing with food products," Djoko Triwinarso, public informations officer of the Purbalingga district administration, said here Thursday.

Representatives of the two Japanese firms had met with Purbalingga District Chief Triyono Budi Sasongko here on Wednesday, Djoko said.

On the occasion, the representative of Asako Yushi Koogyo Co, Isao Takechi, said a total of 171 companies in Japan had expressed interest in purchasing crystalline palm sugar produced in Purbalingga, the spokesman said.

Ten companies had even ordered crystalline palm sugar during a recent food expo in Japan , Djoko quoted Isako Takechi as saying.

Takechi, however, made requirements for the crystalline palm sugar among other things that the food should have a standard price and quality, and be supplied on a continuing basis.

In the meantime, Susumu Tanaka from Pooki Trading Co. also expressed his readiness to purchase other products from Purbalingga such as tapioca waste, pine-apple peels, the wastes of corn and sugar cane, the spokesman added.
