Lee, Obama to hold summit in London on April 2: source

By Lee Chi-dong
SEOUL, March 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak will hold his
first one-on-one summit with U.S. President Barack Obama in London on April 2 on
the sidelines of the Group of 20 financial summit, a diplomatic source said
Tuesday.
"The two sides agreed to hold the meeting shortly before the opening of the G-20
summit on April 2," the source said, requesting anonymity. "The U.S. is expected
to hold bilateral summits there with South Korea and only a few other nations."
In the talks, which will last 20 to 30 minutes, Lee and Obama will discuss a
range of bilateral and global issues including ways to support Afghanistan,
according to the source.
"Besides the introductory meeting with President Obama, President Lee plans to
visit the U.S. in the middle of this year for another summit to discuss pending
issues more concretely," the source said.
The South Korean president is also scheduled to hold separate summits with his
Chinese and Canadian counterparts in London, the source added.
