Finance Minister meets IMF chief

Abu Dhabi, Feb.9 (BNA): Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa met International Monetary Fund (IMF) director-general Christine Lagarde. Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed bin Mohammed Al-Maraj attended the meeting, on the sidelines of the 4th Financial Forum for Arab States, being held in the United Arab Emirates. The minister stressed keenness on revitalizing the economy, boosting investment and bolstering Bahrain’s competitiveness as a key business hub. He underlined the ministry’s drive to consolidate cooperation with all financial and banking sectors, stressing efforts to revitalise economic development and diverisify sources of revenues. The two sides reviewed latest regional and international economic developments and Bahrain’s Fiscal Balance Programme which aims at spurring growth and consolidating stability.
