Speaker receives German Ambassador

Manama, Feb. 18(BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawziya bint Abdulla Zainal received German Ambassador to Bahrain Kai Thamo Boeckmann and discussed bilateral relations and growing cooperation between the two countries. The Speaker commended solid relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and German, stressing keenness on boosting the volume of trade exchanges and activating the parliamentary friendship committees to enhance cooperation. She underline Bahrain’s keen interest in strengthening partnership, expanding cooperation and increasing economic and investment exchanges. The German ambassador congratulated Zainal as the first woman to hold the position of Speaker, which represents a major boost the democratic process in Bahrain and Bahraini women. He delivered to the Speaker an official invitation to visit Germany, hailing Bahrain’s development strides. He reiterated his country’s on supporting Bahrain’s security and stability.
