Yemen needs to develop national economy to face fiscal crises: VP says
SANA'A, March 25 (Saba) - Vice President Abdu Rabou Mansur Hadi said Wednesday that Yemen needs to provide various revenues to its national economy to be able to face the global economic and financial crises.
Hadi affirmed during his visit to the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and meeting the
Minister Amir Aidrous that the work in the oil blocks is going on well to explore
more oil and gas.
He highlighted to the achievements of the French TOTAL company that include
launching a new production, whose production would reach by the end of 2009 to
60,000 barrel per day, as well as the development of the Canadian Nixon Company
production activities which would exceed 30,000 bpd soon.
Hadi made reference to the agreement signed between the Ministry and TOTAL to treat
the burning gas from block No. 10, about 30 million cubic feet of gas, and shift it
to liquid to be generate nearly 50 MW of power as a first phase to cover the needs
in the area
