Yemeni-British security cooperation issues discussed
SANA'A, March 25 (Saba) - Deputy of Interior Minister Saleh al-Zaw'ari and British
Assistant Chief of Staff Goey Pulvodr, during their meeting on Wednesday, discussed
the Yemeni-British security cooperation, particularly in fighting against organized
crimes and maritime piracy fields and ways of enhancing it.
Al-Zaw'ari reviewed Yemeni coast guards achievements in completing its
infrastructure as well as its roles in protecting the Yemeni territorial waters and
fighting against piracy in international waters.
The United Kingdom has been at the forefront of the countries which propped up Yemen
in the establishment of its coast guard, both in terms of providing technical
support or in rehabilitating and training fields, he added.
For his part, the British official praised the role of Yemeni Coast Guard forces in
ensuring safety of the international shipping lines in the south of Red Sea and Gulf
of Aden.
We in the international coalition forces are propping up Yemen's efforts in fighting
against terrorism and piracy which are two sides of the same coin, he added.
