Minister receives Tamkeen head

Manama, Mar. 4(BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received a delegation from Tamkeen, headed by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi. The two sides discussed areas of cooperation in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. The minister said clean energy is a matter of great concern to the leadership and the government because of its significant impact on achieving comprehensive development. He said that through the Sustainable Energy Unit, the Electricity and Water Authority seeks to cooperate with official bodies to achieve national goals of renewable energy. Dr. Mirza thanked Tamkeen for its efforts in supporting Bahrain’s economic development and the labour market and for its continued cooperation and unlimited support for sustainable energy projects. Dr. Janahi said Tamkeen's would continue efforts for the joing development process and implement further plans to contribute to Bahrain’s economic growth. He stressed renewable energy is part of the solution Tamkeen is developing within its current 2018-2020 strategy. The Tamkeen head thanked Dr. Mirza and officials for their continuous efforts, which achieved a lot in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy. The meeting was attended by Acting Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Unit Alexander Al Samahiji.
