PENANG BUSINESSPEOPLE RETURN TO NORTH SUMATERA SEEKING MORE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Medan, Mar 27 (ANTARA) - A number of businessmen and government officials of Penang Island, Malaysia, had returned to North Sumatra seeking their business partners and at the same time increased the business activities between the two sister cities.
"The Penang Island delegation headed by Penang Island Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng planned to meet local businesspeople and government officials on Friday (Mar 27) night," organizer of the Penang-Medan Business Gathering Tansri Chandra said in Medan Tursday.
Tansri, who is also chairman of the Indonesia-China Business Council in Medan said the 43-member Penang delegation will be staying in Medan until March 28.
The visit of the Penang Island delegation had been responded to positively by North Sumatra businesspeople, and hundreds of businessmen had expressed interest in taking part in the business meeting.
Tansri said in the meeting Lim Guan Eng will explain the potentials of investment and business in Penang, and will also inform the local business community on the needs of Penang Island, which the North Sumatra businesspeople may be able to provide.
He also said that Medan and some other areas in the province still have so many potentials which Penang businessmen could use, and the other way around.
