INDIA IS MAJOR IMPORTER OF LAMPUNG'S NON OIL/GAS COMMODITIES
Bandarlampung, March 27 (ANTARA) - India had been a major importer of Lampung's non oil and gas in February 2009 worth US$56.16 million, an official said.
Head of the Lampung provincial industrial and trade agency Agus Salim, flanked by head of the agency's foreign trade division, Efrodine Lediana said here Thursday the Lampung's non oil and gas commodity exports had contributed 18.38 percent of the province's foreign exchange revenue in the same month.
Salim said, other countries following India in terms
of foreign exchange contribution to Lampung were the United States US$ 51.72 million (16,93 percent), Japan US$ 37.8 million (12,38 percent), Germany US$ 24.07 million (7.88 percent) and Italy US$22.86 million (7.48 percent).
According to him, Lampung province in February 2009 exported non oil/gas products to Asia (48.36 percent), to Europe (33.1 percent) and the U.S. (17.62 percent).
Salim said further that Lampung's exports in February 2009 went to 63 countries, while their number reached only 55 in January 2009.
Lampung's non oil/gas exports in February 2009 reached 656,907 tons worth US$305.59 million, 9.33 percent increase from the January 2009 exports.
