Yemen to participate in Arab economic council meetings in Doha
SANA'A, March 27 (Saba) - Minister of Trade and Industry Yahya
al-Mutawakel has headed for Qatar to participate in Arab League's
economic and social council meetings to be started on Friday in the
Qatari capital Doha.
Upon his departure, al-Mutawakel said to Saba that the meetings
would discuss a number of subjects related to the agenda of the
council, mainly the proposal that presented by Kuwait in the Kuwait
economic summit to set-up a $1 billion capital fund for supporting
small and medium enterprises.
The Yemeni official added that the meetings will discuss means of
strengthening the Arab free trade, setting up an Arab customs union
and cooperating in the Arab investment authorities fields.
"The council also will review a proposal which was already presented
by Yemen regarding to consideration the least developed countries'
situations, mainly the latest developments of the World Food crisis
or the current world financial crisis", said al-Mutawakel.
