King's patronage of Accountancy Conference is an impetus for growth: Rida 2 Riyadh

Rida pointed out that the convening of the conference reiterates the
trend of the Kingdom to match the development of accountancy and
auditing and utilize them for the promotion of the national economy
as well as making the environment attractive for investment.


The current global financial crisis has proved the important role of
accountancy and auditing as regards protecting the national economy
in particular and the world economy in general.


The repercussions of the current global financial crisis emphasize
the responsibility which should be shouldered by the accountants and
auditors and their required role for the protection of the rights of
investors and dealers with the trading firms.


On his part deputy chairman of the international federation for the
chartered accountants Joran Tedistorm highlighted the development of
accountancy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


He noted that there are 2.5 million accountants in more than 150
countries in the world, and they are working at all economic sectors.


The chartered accounts should learn lessons from the current global
financial crisis and work for building confidence in the stock
markets, he said.
