Finance Minister attends conference

Riyadh, Apr.24 (BNA): The first Financial Sector Conference opened today in Riyadh under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa attended the two-day high-profile event, being held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in the Saudi capital. Representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority and Capital Market Authority and participation of decision makers in the financial sector and senior executive officers in financial institutions locally, regionally and internationally Themed "Promising Financial Prospects'', the conference is organised by the partners of the Financial Sector Development Program, one of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 schemes. He commended the conference which attracts decision-makers and senior executive officials, stressing the importance of the gathering which contributes to developing the vital financial sector. He underlined the global shifts towards building a non-monetary society through the use of financial technology and investment promotion which, he said, would create highly rewarding jobs, develop strong digitalized financial infrastructure and support innovations. The minister is leading a delegation which includes Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Al-Maraj, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Riyadh Shaikh Humood bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Bourse Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khalifa bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa and Finance and National Economy Ministry Undersecretary Hamad Faisal Al-Malki.
