AT LEAST 900 FLOOD VICTIMS IN W SUMATRA STILL IN REFUGEE CAMPS

Padang, West Sumatra, March 31 (ANTARA) - At least 900 victims of floods which affected a number of settlement areas in Tanahdatar District, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, early Monday, were still staying in refugee camps on Tuesday.

The refugee camps were located at Mandailing, Pasie Laweh and Kandang Malabung villages, Tanwir Rusman, head of the Tanahdatar social and manpower service, said here on Tuesday.

The flash floods which hit Tanahdatar and Agam Districts, killed one person and injured three others.

At Pasie Laweh, the disaster seriously damaged 22 houses, and totally destroyed nine others. Three houses of worship and five bridges were also affected by the flash floods at the village.

In Agam District, the floods damaged two bridges, one small mosque, and agricultural fields.
