President returns home

SANA'A, March 31 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived in
Sana'a Tuesday evening coming from the Qatari capital, Doha.

President Saleh has taken part in meetings of the 21st round of the
Arab Summit and the 2nd Summit of Arab States and South America
Countries held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

In his speech at a closed-door meeting of the Arab summit which
kicked off and concluded last Monday, President Saleh said that
everyone must take their responsibilities towards the Arab issues,
confirming the necessity of improving the Arab joint action.

The President renewed his call for more efforts in fighting against
terrorism and developing the mechanisms of security and intelligence
coordination between Arab countries to face terrorist threats.

Well-informed sources mentioned that President Ali Abdullah Saleh
withdrew on Monday from the closed-door and concluding sessions of
the Doha Summit.

The withdrawal comes in protest for not allowing the Yemeni vision
on activating mechanisms of the Arab joint action and establishing
an Arab union to be read.

Worth to mention that Yemen presented an initiative, during the 21st
Arab summit, aimed at activating the Arab joint work in political,
economic, and cultural and security fields based on establishing an
Arab union.
