50 PEOPLE HOMELESS AFTER FIRE DESTROYS NINE HOUSES IN BANJARMASIN
Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan, March 31 (ANTARA)- At least nine houses caught fire here Tuesday (March 31) night leaving 50 people homeless, but there was no immediate report on casualties.
"The fire destroyed nine houses while some others were damaged," assistance coordinator of the city fire station, Suhaimi confirmed here Tuesday.
The fire broke out Tuesday at about 10 p.m. and caused panic to the people living in Srikandi Kelayan alley, South Banjarmasin sub-district.
Tens of fire engines managed to put out the flames in an hour, the official said.
Suhaimi however, did not give details on the material loss caused by the fire.
