KALLA TO CONCLUDE GOLKAR ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN KARANGANYAR
Karanganyar, Indonesia, April 1 (ANTARA) - Golkar Party chairman Jusuf Kalla who is concurrently vice president is scheduled to conclude the party's election campaign in Karanganyar district, Central Java, on Saturday April 4, 2009.
The chairman of the advisory board of Golkar's Karanganyar branch, Yuliatmono, said here on Wednesday Kalla would speak before around 20,000 Golkar cadres and sympathizers on Saturday.
"We want to mobilize as many people as possible for the final campaign rally in Karanganyar but because we have limited space, only about 20,000 supporters and sympathizers will join the campaign rally," Yuliatmono said.
Commenting on the damage of so many ballot papers in Karanganyar, Yuliatmono said that together with other parties such as Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and United Development Party (PPP), they had proposed to have the damaged papers replaced with new ones.
He said about 298,000 or more than 45 percent of the ballot papers in Karanganyar district were damaged, or many of them had been ticked with red ink for a particular party.
Yuliatmono added that General Election Commission (KPU) had been asked to replace the damaged ballot papers in Karanganyar but to date the new ones have yet to arrive.***
