PM calls on businessmen to support orphan centers
SANA'A, April 01 (Saba) - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar called
Wednesday on the businessmen and charitable people to prop up the
current orphan centers and to build others in other governorate.
Speaking in the annual ceremony on the Orphan Day organized by the
Charitable Rahmah Foundation, Mujawar asserted the necessity of
coordinating the government and private efforts to care of orphans.
He emphasized the importance of the monitoring and supervision roles
of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to assure the orphans
care centers perform their responsibilities towards orphans.
"Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor is working on studies and
designs of establishment of 11 new orphan centers with up-to-date
equipment and furniture in a number of governorates" the Premier
said.
He highlighted the government commitment to the provide all needs to
make orphans live honorably, noting to the educational, health and
training requirements to make orphans able to contribute to the
development process in the country.
He addressed the exerted efforts under the National Strategy of
Childhood and Youth which focused in part on paying more attention
to orphans, prompting families on sponsoring them and enrolling them
to schools and vocational training.
Mujawar hopped that the ceremony realizes the desired goals of
polarizing more care of orphans and their requirements.
The ceremony was attended by several ministers, members of
Parliament and Shura, members of the Diplomatic Corps and a number
of businessmen.
