RI TO ASK ADVANCED COUNTRIES TRY THEIR BEST IN RESTORING THEIR ECONOMY

Jakarta, April 2 (ANTARA) - Indonesia will ask the advanced countries to do their utmost in restoring their economies as they still have the capability.

"To our view advanced countries still have the capability to be more all out in seeking their recovery," Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said at a press conference at Hotel JW Marriott in London on Wednesday.

He said by taking maximal efforts by among others improving their banking conditions their economy and market would be restored.

By taking a maximum effort they helped restore global economy, prevent deeper recession and developing countries through their reopened market.

"Indonesia calls for such an action and thinks it must be done by the advanced countries because they have the capability for it," he said.

He said Indonesia's position in the G20 meeting was representing developing countries's views.

In view of that he said Indonesia would send a message at the G20 forum regarding the need for the developed countries to be considerate with regard to the developing countries who this time were victims.

President Yudhoyono will convey seven points with regard to the country's stance at the G20 meeting.

They include a call for a maximum effort to overcome the crisis for the next two years, a concensus between stimulus and regulation, reform of international financial institutions, formation of a support fund for developing countries, advanced countries' maximum efforts to restore their economies, toleration between advanced and developing countries with regard to seeking a way out of the crisis and a practical solution of the crisis without ignoring the bigger aim of creating a more stable and fair economic order.

President Yudhoyono said the Indonesian delegation had worked hard to make the country's view included in the joint communique to be issued on April 2.

He said Indonesia had also approached other G20 coutries through bilateral meetings to have its views and stance supported.
