Crude sales of 2.2 mln barrel for next May approved

SANA'A, April 02 (Saba) - The Supreme Committee for Crude Oil
Marketing approved on Thursday in its meeting chaired by Prime
Minster Ali Mujawar May's sales of crude oil at a total quantity of
2.2 million barrels according to the competitive bids submitted by
international companies specialized in this field.

The committee was briefed on the technical committee's report on the
measures that had been taken for receiving, analyzing and choosing
the best bids.

It affirmed the necessity of seeking for an international consulting
company to help diagnose the main challenges which may face the
future marketing process and limiting a mechanism for developing a
group of operations related to crude oil marketing.

The technical committee was directed to put all the information
related to oil sales on the marketing process' websites via internet
monthly for enhancing transparency in all steps of the process.

The supreme committee esteemed the distinguished efforts of the
technical committee, directing it to start the procedures of next
June's sales for availing from the time to get distinct offers.

It is worth to point out that the committee has sought for help of
an international expert house for developing the operations relevant
to the next May sales and pinpointing the best available
alternatives.
