RI TO PARTICIPATE IN XI`AN TRADE FORUM
Beijing, April 3 (ANTARA) - A number of Indonesian companies will take part in "The13th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China" from April 5-8, 2009 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China, an Indonesian official here said.
The forum would be participated in by 10 companies from Indonesia and hundreds of others from other countries, according to Imbang Listiyadi, trade attache at the Indonesian Embassy here Friday.
He said Indonesia's participation in the forum would be of great significance as Indonesia was at present trying to diversify its export market to various parts of China.
"The focus of Indonesian trade with China so far was still concentrated on areas in western and southern China, while the areas in central and northern China have yet to be canvassed by Indonesian investors," Listiyadi said.
Therefore, he said, Indonesia would have an important and strategic opportunity to involve its companies in the forum in its bid to diversify its market to the central part of China.
He added that the forum would be an important event for Indonesian companies to introduce the country's potential products and services to the local people and businessmen.
Listiyadi said thee people and businessmen in Xi'an still did not know much about the potential of products and services from Indonesia and therefore the forum would be a good opportunity for Indonesian businessmen to introduce it.***
