Public Security chief visits Civil Defence

Manama, Aug.15 (BNA): The Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan visited the General Directorate of Civil Defence. He was received by the Director-General Col. Ali Mohammed Al Hooti and officers. The visit aimed to inspect the preparedness and commitment to security performance. He was briefed on the level of fast response to cases, starting from reporting them through the Operations Room to carrying the required duties with accuracy and speed. The Chief also informed about the preparedness, the work of the National Committee of Disaster Management and emergency procedures. He hailed the directives of the Interior Minister to carry the noble tasks of the civil defence. He highlighted the continuation to improve competencies and capabilities of the civil defence through various mechanisms, artificial intelligence systems and internationally acclaimed training. The Chief also highlighted plans to increase workforce, projects and civil defence centres at all governorates. He stressed the importance of swift response and effectiveness in dealing with cases, along with awareness programmes on precaution measures from accidents and fires and how to react to them. He praised the efforts of the General Directorate of Civil Defence in holding specialised training courses within a comprehensive training environment. He expressed appreciation to civil defence personnel for their professionalism and dedication to protect lives and properties. The Director-General highlighted the dedication to promote safety and the creation of an environment of growth and interaction with the Public through initiatives in association with all sectors, authorities and individuals.
