"Jelajah Dunia Retro Havoc" In Thailand To Promote VM2020

By Linda Khoo BANGKOK, Aug 24 Ogos (Bernama) -- The “Jelajah Dunia Retro Havoc Motorsports” tour is now in Thailand to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2020 (VM2020). The team left Putrajaya on Aug 19, led by Engku Mohammad Hadri Engku Hassan, 34, assisted by Sh Nur Sharmila Sh Mohamed Sharer, 38, and Abdul Rahman Halid, 32, who is driving the Toyota AE86 for the tour which has covered a distance of more than 2,300 kilometres (km). On Friday, Malaysia’s ambassador to Thailand, Jojie Samuel hosted the team at the embassy here before flagging them off on their sojourn to Chieng Rai in northern Thailand. Tourism Malaysia (Bangkok) deputy director Mazreena Mohd Yusof, who was also present, said the tour, which will see the team traversing 25,000 km across 24 countries, is organised by the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry. Along the way, they would be distributing leaflets, brochures and materials related to VM2020, she said. “They will make stops among others in China, Mongolia, Latvia, Russia and Germany. The tour is expected take 98 days before they arrive at their final destination which is Amsterdam,” she added. -- BERNAMA
