SP asks international community to gather efforts of combating terror

SANA'A, April 06 (Saba)-Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Rae affirmed on Monday importance of gathering international efforts of combating terror as it is dangerous phenomenon .

In his speech in the 120th conference of the international parliamentary union -was
being held in Addis Ababa, al-Rae said that the terror damages interests of the
nations including Yemen.

He said that the Middle East witnessed hot events especially Israeli occupation for
the Arab territories in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon, pointing out to the Arab and
Islamic initiatives to settle peace and security in the region and free the region
from the weapons of mass destruction.

He also pointed out to the rejection of Israeli for the peace

initiatives and for signature of the convention of combating the

spread of weapons of mass destruction, asking the union to condemn

Israeli crimes against civilians in Palestinians and bring the

responsible people to the justice as war criminals



The speaker also called for support of the Somali government to achieve stability in
Somali, affirming importance of combating piracy in Aden Gulf and Somali coastlines.

He also confirmed right of United Arab Emirates with their islands, calling on Iran
for dialogue with the UAE to resolve dispute between the two countries over these
islands or go to international tribunal.

Regarding the current global financial crisis, the speaker said that the crisis
requires supporting efforts of the economic reforms and better investment
environment to increase job opportunities and narrow the gap between economics of
the rice and poor countries.
