Kyrgyz economy minister and head of IFC discuss prospects for development of cooperation

Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2019. / Kabar /. Minister of Economy Sanjar Mukanbetov met on Monday with new head of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Kyrgyzstan Manizha Mamadnabieva. The sides discussed the goals and priorities of IFC in the Kyrgyz Republic and the prospects for developing cooperation related to the development of the private sector, attracting investments, creating new jobs, supporting domestic producers, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. Also, during the meeting, Mamadnabieva informed Mukanbetov regarding the work being carried out together with the Ministry on inventory of all the signed agreements of Kyrgyzstan on the promotion and protection of investments. The sides expressed interest in enhancing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in all priority areas. The Kyrgyz Republic joined the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 1993 and owns 0.07% of its share capital. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the largest global development institution, whose activities are aimed solely at supporting the private sector. Working with private enterprises in more than 100 countries, IFC uses capital, experience, and influence to help eradicate poverty and promote global wealth.
