Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets GCC chief

Geneva, Sept. 17(BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of the National Committee on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling or use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, met with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, on the sidelines of the 63rd International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference in Vienna, Austria. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the most important issues on the agenda at the current session of the conference, especially those related to nuclear security and peaceful uses of atomic energy, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave a brief explanation on how the National Committee on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling or use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction works in addition to the committees vision to enhance cooperation with the IAEA. For his part, the Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the National Committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in promoting and developing relations with the IAEA and its strategic vision to achieve the higher interests of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
