Cabinet minister meets UNGA president

New York, Sept. 19(BNA): Cabinet Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutwa has today met the President of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Professor Tijjani Muhammad-Bande in New York, in the USA.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hosam bin Isa Al-Khalifa, president of the award of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for Sustainable Development, as well as Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Al-Maraj and Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Jamal Al-Ruwae.
The minister conveyed congratulations from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to Professor Tijjani Muhammad-Bande for on his election as President of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
He conveyed thanks from HRH the Premier to the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly which declared the 5th of April every year as the International Day of Conscience, stressed the importance of the initiative in supporting international efforts to spread the culture of peace, tolerance and solidarity towards building a sustainable world based on the principles of solidarity and harmony.
The minister praised the advanced level attained by the partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations and its affiliated organisations and agencies. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his farsighted royal vision, reiterating Bahrain’s keenness on international cooperation to reach stances, parameters and resolutions to support global development security and peace.
He shed light on the second edition of the forum "Bahrain’s Share Visions for Successful Future", which will be held on September 26, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session (UNGA), under the theme "Required Values to achieve Sustainable Development Goals".
The President of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Professor Tijjani Muhammad-Bande commended the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to promote peace, security and stability. He commended HRH the Premier’s initiative which bore fruit, leading to the proclamation of the 5th of April as the International Day of Conscience, which represents an important contribution to international cooperation.
