Bahrain-Argentina relations discussed

Buenos Aires, Sept. 20 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, currently on an official working visit to Buenos Aires, today met Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Gustav Zlovinen of the Republic of Argentina. Ambassador Zlovinen welcomed Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and his accompanying delegation, affirming his country's keen desire to enhance cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain to serve the benefits of both sides. He also expressed Argentina's interest in boosting its bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to create a promising economic partnership, praising the progress of Bahrain and wishing it continued progress and prosperity. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah, in his turn, stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain looks forward to building a distinguished partnership with the Republic of Argentina, especially that the two countries share advantages capable of constituting a starting point for stronger bilateral relations. He took pride in the depth of bilateral relations, based on decades of mutual trust and respect, and common desire to promote joint interests and establish international peace and security. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs called for joint international efforts to combat terrorism through a comprehensive strategy that includes integrated and realistic mechanisms. He also welcomed the last July’s decision of the friendly Republic of Argentina to classify the so-called Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation and freeze the assets of its members, describing the move as a new step towards the international community's awareness of the danger posed by this terrorist organization to international security and stability. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah touched on the principles of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and its role in diversifying the national economy and attracting investments, noting that the Kingdom has been able to move forward in achieving sustainable development goals at impressive high rates. He called for intensifying trade delegations exchange between the two friendly countries in order to motivate business owners and representatives of private companies to explore available investment opportunities. He pointed out, in this context, to the visit paid by a trade delegation from Argentina to Bahrain last December and the resulting good outcomes and said Bahrain is always looking forward to expand bilateral trade exchange through joint projects, exhibitions and conferences. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah highlighted Bahrain’s investment advantages including the safe, stimulating sophisticated environment that encourages technology and digital transformation making of Bahrain a key gateway to the Arab and GCC markets. Citing the kingdom’s aspects of progress, achievements and qualitative gains because of the comprehensive reforms made under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, he noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain gives priority to building regional partnerships, promoting sustainable development and countering terrorist threats.
