Al-Wazir meets Yemeni, Omani businessmen


SANA'A, April 07 (Saba)- Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir, who
currently chairs the Yemeni side in the Yemeni-Omani Joint
Ministerial Committee, met here on Tuesday members of the
Yemeni-Omani Businessmen Council.

During the meeting, the minister affirmed the significant role of
the Yemeni-Omani Businessmen Council to push forward the trade
exchange between Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman so as to achieve a
large economic growth through developing the private sector's
projects.

Al-Wazir indicated the government's underway arrangements related to
converting the land border outlets with the neighboring countries to
economic and trade land ports equipped with all upgraded equipments
for simplifying the trade exchange process between Yemen and those
countries.

A part of the land outlets converting process will be raised before
the private sector investments in loading and unloading goods,
passengers and tourists services fields, al-Wazir added.

The minister affirmed the Yemeni side's willingness on offering all
facilities and solving all problems faced by the businessmen related
to enhancing the trade exchange so as to contribute to strengthening
the bilateral ties between the two neighboring brotherly countries.

The minister was briefed by both Yemeni and Omani heads of the
council on the main discussions related to finding a joint trade and
industrial area in the borders between the two countries as well as
establishing a joint marketing company between the two sides.

The Yemeni-Omani businessmen voiced their satisfaction for the
ministry's executive steps to convert the land outlets to land ports
to get over the current problems, confirming the importance of
inaugurating Al-Saeeda Airline flights from Aden and Mukala to Oman
that will serve communication between the two peoples and develop
mutual trade.

It is worth to mention that the Yemeni-Omani Businessmen Council
came as a results of the Yemeni-Omani joint ministerial committee's
works aiming at introducing the businessmen and investors in the two
countries to the available economic potentials and investment
opportunities.
