Kyrgyzstan thanks Norway for funding Trust Fund for Tailings Rehabilitation in CA

Bishkek, Sept.25, 2019. /Kabar/. As part of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov met with Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. During the meeting, the ministers discussed the implementation of the agreements, reached on the results of the official visit of the Kyrgyz minister to Norway in January 2019, as well as issues of cooperation within the international organizations. The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude for Norway's support for the funding of the Trust Fund for Tailings Rehabilitation in Central Asia and noted the importance of continuing successful cooperation in radiation safety issues. The sides noted the importance of increasing economic cooperation and increasing export opportunities of Kyrgyzstan to the Norwegian market. For this purpose, the Norwegian side has granted a special preferential status for importing a wide range of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Norway since 2019.
