Assistant Foreign Minister praises UAE's ECSSR role

Manama, Sep. 25 (BNA): Assistant Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dossari, today received in his office at the Ministry's Court a delegation from the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), led by Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Marzouqi. He stressed ECSSR's important role as one of the most important research centres in the region that promotes political and cultural awareness in the community and offers seminars and valuable programmes with the aim of fighting terrorism and extremism and upholding human rights. The Assistant Foreign Minister noted in particular the scientific researches and political, economic, social and cultural studies published by the Centre on the region’s various issues, wishing the ECSSR further progress and development He also briefed the delegation on the cultural achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the outstanding initiatives it has launched to promote peace and stability in the region and worldwide. Reviewing the Kingdom's achievements in many areas related to human rights, he highlighted the efforts of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence and how it has contributed to spreading the values of coexistence and peace among different communities and religions. This, he said, besides other numerous initiatives and human rights achievements, has reflected positively on the Kingdom's status and was behind its membership in the Human rights Council for 2019-2021. Dr. Marzouqi, who is the Head of ECSSR Scientific Research sector, expressed delight to have met the Assistant Foreign Minister, stressing the Centre's interest in working together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in various fields, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
