Foreign Minister meets IPI president

New York, Sept. 27 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with the President of the International Peace Institute, Mr.Terje Rød-Larsen, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The minister praised the institute's efforts in enhancing security and stability in the region through researches, studies and important conferences that touch on the issues of the region and the needs of its countries that contribute to the appreciation of conscious visions and solid proposals for the prosperity of their people, wishing Rød-Larsen and the staff of the Institute for International Peace all success. Rød-Larsen expressed his pride and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his cooperation and support to the activities of the International Peace Institute, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa also met with the former President of the UN General Assembly, Vuk Jeremić and commended his efforts to promote the role of the United Nations General Assembly in general and in strengthening cooperation relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain in particular during his presidency of the 67th session of the General Assembly, thanking his reliance on teamwork and international cooperation in dealing with various issues of concern to the international community, wishing him continued happiness and success. For his part, Vuk Jeremić expressed his pride in continuing to communicate with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, praising the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to the approach of constructive cooperation with the United Nations in all its organs, and its role in promoting security and peace, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain all progress and prosperity.
