Bahrain's support to Sudan stressed

New York, Sept. 27 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, reiterated the Kingdom Bahrain's solidarity and support to the brotherly Republic of Sudan, and its full support to all political arrangements in addition to the signing of the constitutional document for the transition to Civil Authority, which is an important step in moving the Republic of Sudan towards stability, peace and progress. The Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the High-level event on Sudan, which was held in New York City, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. António Guterres, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr. Moussa Faki, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Sudan, Dr. Abdalla Hamdok. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa expressed appreciation for the tireless efforts to support stability in Sudan and promote security, peace and development there. He also praised keenness on progress and prosperity of the Sudanese people, stressing the Kingdom's support for the efforts made to remove Sudan from any lists of countries that support or sponsor terrorism. He noted that the support of the international community and the international and regional organisations will have a great positive impact on the future of the Sudanese people. (MOFA)
