Regular meeting of Council of Eurasian Economic Commission held in Yerevan

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2019. / Kabar /. In the city of Yerevan (Republic of Armenia), a regular meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission was held at the level of vice prime ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
In accordance with the approved agenda, members of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission considered 17 issues, the press service of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
One of the important topics of the meeting was the issue of standards for the distribution of import customs duties between the budgets of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Further, the information was provided on the progress in preparing a document defining strategic directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025.
Taking into account the proposals of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the meeting participants agreed that the document defining the strategic directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 will be a structured document or a road map with a description of specific activities and an indication of their timing. The document must be considered before December 2019.
In addition, an exchange of views took place on approaches to the development of trade and economic cooperation with the main partners of the Eurasian Economic Union for the medium term.
Council members agreed on the need to establish a list of third parties, the conclusion of free trade agreements with which is most economically feasible and hold consultations with them.
The parties also heard information on obstacles in the domestic market of the Eurasian Economic Union, in accordance with which 56 barriers in the domestic market were identified and 37 barriers were removed, 8 of which were identified since the beginning of 2019.
As part of this issue, Chairman of the EEC Board Tigran Sargsyan voiced the issue related to the introduction by the Russian side of a limit of 100 thousand rubles per month for sending money to the Kyrgyz Republic.
He noted that the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, raised this issue during a meeting held in Bishkek on Sept. 27, 2019.
Based on the results of the discussions, they decided to ask the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to work out this issue together with the Eurasian Economic Commission and submit relevant information to the next Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which will be held on October 25, 2019.
During the meeting, a number of other documents were adopted aimed at further development of the EAEU integration.
