Speaker to participate in Arab Document on Women's Rights launch

Abu Dhabi, Oct. 5 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has stressed that the Bahrain has become a distinguished role model in the region as a result of the landmark gains and achievements attained by Bahraini women under the comprehensive Reform Project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during HM’s prosperous era, and thanks to the unwavering efforts and forward-looking vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
The speaker was commenting on her participation in the ceremony to launch the "Arab Document for Women’s Rights", due to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, under the patronage of HH Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation "Umm Al Emarat" on October 7-8.
The speaker was selected to be the keynote speaker during the opening session of the event. She will highlight the kingdom’s experience in the field of women advancement, being among the most pioneering and successful in the region.
She will also shed light on efforts to support women across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the role of "Umm Al Emarat, and GCC constitutions and national laws emanating from Islamic Sharia and the deep-rooted GCC culture.
The document launch ceremony will be attended by an elite of Arab and international women leaders, at the invitation of the President of the UAE National Federal Council, Dr. Amal Abdulla Al-Qubaisi, and Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mishaal bin Fahad Al-Salmi.
