Manmohan greets new Malaysian Prime Minister



Kuala Lumpur, Apr 8 (PTI) Indian Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh has greeted his Malaysian counterpart Najib Tun
Razak, who recently took office and expressed hope that
bilateral ties between the two democracies will be
consolidated.

"Relations between India and Malaysia are based on
sound foundations of historical, cultural and social links and
reinforced by shared interests and concerns," Singh said in
his message to his Malaysian counterpart.

The two countries could consolidate their partnership
in all areas, in view of the untapped potential and emerging
new opportunities.

"We are happy that this important relationship has
diversified and acquired new depth and dynamism in recent
years, bilaterally as also in regional and multilateral
spheres," Singh added.

The Indian Prime Minister said that New Delhi looked
forward to working with Malaysia to consolidate partnership in
all its dimensions, taking advantage of the untapped potential
and emerging new opportunities. PTI JB
